MeMac, and AIO gaming PC in an eMac [ITS DEAD now]

spwath

emacSide_2.jpg

Welcome to my second ever build log, MeMac.

This will be a build log of me putting a entire gaming pc (INCLUDING MONITOR) inside an eMac

I think it will be pretty cool, and pretty hard.

The specs of the system will be my current rig, with FX-6300, and HD 7850 (see profile if you want complete specs, kinda boring specs so...)

Now, the exciting part, it MIGHT BE WATERCOOLED!!

My current rig is watercooled, but im not sure if i can fit the parts inside the emac. We will have to see.

First update coming soon, as I have already done some things.

Thats it!

If you have any ideas to make it even cooler, tell me.

Well... I'm gonna be cramming a dual-PIII board in a 300R... Just need another 1GHz PIII and a video card that doesn't have the compute power of a potato.

So we are doing the opposite.

I am putting modern hardware in a 2004 case, and you are putting 2004 hardware in a modern case

It's dremelling time! (maybe? possibly?)

I'm interested to see this. Is the eMac a similar size to the Mac G4 G3? If it is, you're officially crazy unless you plan on doing some serious mods to the cooling system.

To an extent... Either way, I looooove me some Pentium III action. Now I just gotta get a case for my other PIII build... This is sad. I have a PII laptop, 2 (soon to be 3) PIII desktops, a P4 Dell, 2 Core 2-generation PCs, and then my rig. xD

Its a bit bigger than the g3. Its pretty big. An ATX MB will fit inside no problem. It has a nice big vent in the back.

Also, already did some minor dremmeling to get rid of useless plastic bumps inside. BUt there is probably more to come.

Also, im going to try to get as many originall functions to work (power switch, power LED, disk drive with cover, microphone)

Pretty cool, perhaps a Hackintosh?
Next year I want to take the shell of a Mac Pro and like build a photo/video editing and gaming workstation (that will run OS X and Windows). I think in attempt to keep the aesthetic of the Mac Pro, I would build an acrylic (clear or frosted-white, not sure) ATX mobo tray and fan mount on the top and find some where to seat 2 HDDs and 2 SSDs. (perhaps rails at the top of the acrylic subframe) (I guess you could call it that even though it wouldn't really be a structural member since anything Apple had intended for structural rigidity will be removed so that I have extra space. I've also considered doing something like this with my Bondi Blue iMac G3 but a flat screen would look rather weird in it, I'm also nervous about working with a CRT since they can hold a large charge for quite some time (which I mean it's been sitting for quite some time now, still afraid there might be some charge left.
