Asus ROG Swift PG279Q WQHD 144Hz IPS Panel and G-sync

OneManWolfPack5

Why is there no coverage on this thing? It's pretty much a IPS PG278Q!

This one slipped through the mazes. The PG279Q is for people looking for a 27″ display with G-Sync. The new PG279Q is 27" in size and features a 144Hz capable IPS-type panel and NVIDIA G-sync support.

According to Asus it has "extensive connectivity" options including DisplayPort and HDMI connectivity. Remember we mentioned that there has been a revision to the GSYNC board supporting HDMI ? There you go.

very little to really no other specs and information have been posted, neither any other features - availability or pricing. This and other than that this is a WHQD screen with a screen resolution of 2560x1440. The press release seems to indicate that the screen will be part of the Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand, which makes total sense if you look at the design of course.

It is the MG279q only with G-Sync instead of Freesync.

I'm just waiting on pricing for this monitor, always wanted a IPS version of the swift, although I doubt I'll be able to afford it, the price of the swift now is already close to £600, this will probably be at least £700-800 :/

Why is there no coverage on this thing? It's pretty much a IPS PG278Q!

Probably because that guy that kept spamming threads with how the 'Acer XB270hu made the Swift obsolete' (paraphrased) didn't like that all his posts are now redundant. funny how that one worked out isn't it.

Hella sexy. Defos an option for my summer upgrade. Granted it will probably cost like 1.5K.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

is this basically it, the absolute GOD monitor? they almost had it with the ROG SWIFT Gen. 1, but this is basically fixing that monitor's only flaw if im right? which is the addition of IPS, so this it, the best of the best...

Didn't get the original ROG Swift because the Acer was out, didn't get the Acer because its glossier than an 80's pop star's hair and I hate that kind of look.

Well this is kinda exactly what I have been waiting for... now if they can make it the same price as the Acer... that will be just lovely :3 (scared of 1300$ in Australia because that shit can happen).
