Ya know, 8K is great and all, but so many people already can't even take advantage of 4K on YouTube yet. I mean, it's cool that it's implemented, but very few people will even have the horsepower to run it, and I mean very few people...

(For example, my computer has an i5-3570K, 16GB of RAM, and an R9-290, and the video (at 8K) is even stuttering for me...)

Well anyways, here's that 8K clip:

But we still have like 8Mbit bitrate at 1080p

That's really cool how the majority of people can't even run 4k and there's already support for 8k

Seriously, what.

My CPU can't even handle it, it's just a black screen.

I tried watching it at 8K and i blackscreen. i5-m not powerful enough.

It streams at 85 mbps for me, stutters but I'm pretty sure it's my i5 4690 POS that I'm using until my 4770k shows up.

May be my net, but I have roughly 115 down, so if the stream was only 85 mbps, it shouldn't be that.

I also get stutter.  Not sure why.  I wanted to test my fast 100 mbps Internet connection.  It seems that the buffer is acceptable, but I still get stutters.  I watch my CPU usage, and it is barely nothing.

I think its cool they develop tech for it in advance but they should disable it for now, its pointless to have 8K, the only way you will get the smallest visual quality increase over 4K is having a 100 inch or more 4K TV already and playing 8K on it you might notice more density/clarity but until you have native 8K panel that must absolutely huge way over 100" 8K is useless waste processing/bandwidth.Sure in games everything would look amazing even if you had small screen with 8K native because meh less aliasing and increased quality is king in games.

But 4K with 2/4X MSAA would be enough for a long long time,at least until our gpu's can chew 8K like its nothing, and i dont mean videos i mean 3D render.

About the 8K video sample on my 1080p monitor its just silly, the video is so downscaled it has jaggies WTF jaggies in a 8K video on 24" screen lmao, its just too much we need hardware/software/monitors to catch up with 4K first then we can talk 8K.

I have 500mpbs fiber conection video loads flawless on i5 4570 but the quality is worse than 4K because of so much downscale to fit my monitor or whatever happens that makes it looks so bad.

8K is not useful for you, therefore disable it for everyone.

Interesting point-of-view.

It's 8k now but I'm still at 1080p. This is depressing.

Even if there is only a few people who actually has a need for this, why shouldn't they have access to it
