Fractal Node 804 - GTX 970 STRIX

Hi all,

I'm planning on ordering computer parts for a mATX build in a couple weeks.

PCPartPicker Link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Tb8yrH

I'm curious to know, will two GTX 970 Strix cards fit in the Fractal Node 804? As I'm planning to do a SLI setup to "future proof" my rig so that I don't have to upgrade for a while.

On that same note, if you have any other advice for me with the Node 804, I would be glad to hear it, as this is my first build... Thanks!

They will fit fine, but don't get a open air cooler if you are going to SLI go with a Blower style cooler, at least not the Strix (a good amount of them have power delivery and overheating issues) Personaly i would go for the reference 970 if you can get it (i think bestbuy has them) or ASUS Turbo

Edit, sorry, they will. Get an close loop liquid cooler like Rampiks says. It will help with temperatures giving the GPUS more air.

Yea, I'm planning on going with the Corsair H60 to cool the 4790K. If you have any suggestions please let me know!  :)

I would get low profile ram if I was you, and a 240 or 280 watercooler for that cpu.

Is Corsair Vengeance Pro low profile enough? xD

I would also get the H100i but I'm kind of on a budget, but if I need to / recommended to I'll find a way to fit it in...

Thanks so much man!

I originally had HyperX Fury DDR3 16GB 1866MHz memory as it was somewhat low-profile, but then I saw that the Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB 1866MHz kit was a few $$ cheaper on PCPartPicker and it looked better so I changed it to that. I'm wondering if I should switch back to the HyperX Fury...?

Just a quick question, would the MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G (http://us.msi.com/product/vga/GTX-970-GAMING-4G.html#hero-overview) be a good replacement for the GTX 970 you listed? As it fits the "red-theme" I would like to go with...

it would yes, i have them my self in SLI but open air coolers in sli is not ideal since the upper card draws hot air from the lower.

My upper card is 10*C hotter then the lower (upper 80*C and lower 70*C) and this is a m-atx, i don't know. i'll check out more pictures to see how good the air flow is

it looks to be fine, since there is a fan right in front of it, if you turn up the speed of it when gaming you should be fine :)

EDIT: and if you really want i good looking build you can buy 2 SP 120 for the AIO and 3 AF120 for front (with the color rings) regardless you will need one extra 120mm fan for front intake if you want to SLI
