when you do a bios update yeah but not out of the box, but thats what is told to me
not all are like that. New h81/h85/h87 boards always come with bios that supports haswell refresh.
The older ones but still being manufactured also come with updated bios.
But if you get an old stock with older bios, then you need that bios update.
i have personally used a few asrock budget-as-hell boards with the g3258, works out of the box. not the latest bios but still supports the refresh.
esp. rev2.0 or updated variants. check on the manufacturer website.
plus the i5 4440 isnt a haswell refresh. its just haswell so all 81 85 87 mobo will work
