Surround Gaming - Identical Monitors?

Go to solution Solved by SageC,

Same resolution will work just fine but they will all run at the lowest refresh rate. Which in your case is 60Hz.

Just a quick question:

For surround gaming across 3 monitors (using NVIDEA Surround), do you need 3 of the exact same monitor, or just the same resolution?

I was looking at the following monitor set-up:

1 x Asus ROG Swift PG278Q (2560x1440 at 144Hz)

2 x BenQ GW2765HT (2560x1440 at 60Hz)

Can anyone confirm whether or not you can set-up surround with these monitors? If not, how come? I've never used NVIDEA Surround before.

Computer's don't make errors. What they do, they do on purpose.

You only need the same resolution. They do not need to be identical monitor. You can even run on different resolution monitors if you set the resolution to the same in Windows (for example, you can use a 1920x1200 monitor in surround with two 1080p monitors if you set the resolution to 1080p in Windows).

Personally, It would drive me nuts having anything but identical monitors, but its by no means a requirement at all.

For me, as long as they're the same size and resolution, I don't care too much.

Besides, 3 ROG Swift's would be hella expensive.

No doubt, its all moot in my case anyway though, one monitor is enough for my uses. At least for now.
