Stock Lollipop on LG G3 (D850)

chargerjake

Hello all,

So I've recently switched to Android from my iPhone 6. (Loving it, by the way.) I've liked the proprietary LG version of Lollipop, however I like the Google stock version of Lollipop a lot more. I've been researching how to install the stock version of Lollipop on there however I'm getting a bit confused, as I was a previous iOS user and don't understand much Android stuff, yet. So, could anyone explain to me how I can install stock Android 5.1 on a D850 LG G3?

PC SETUP: | i5-4440 3.1 GHz | MSI Z97s Krait | EVGA GTX 970 | G.Skill Value 8GB | WDC Blue 500GB | NZXT S340

MOBILE SETUP: | Apple iPhone 6 | iOS 10b4 | Apple Watch Stainless Steel w/ Black Sport Band | WatchOS 3b4

I recommend that you watch a video on how to flash Cyanogenmod on the G3. Cyanogenmod is a custom ROM which is based on stock android but with a lot of amazing tweaks and extras. I'm using CM 12.1 on my Nexus 5 and prefer it a lot over stock lollipop. You basically have to install a custom recovery and flash a few .zip files after you completely wiped your phone.

 Would you have a video already ready?

Disclaimer: Backup all data you will need/want afterwards (no cloud photos? game progress? etc...)

Even bigger disclaimer: Unlocking the bootloader (required for rooting and flashing roms) voids your warranty

Ask if you have any more questions! Don't forget to read each video's description and comments

1. Unlock the Bootloader and install a custom recovery

    ->

2. Download all the necessary .ZIP files from Cyanogenmod (Cyanogenmod for G3 d850 and Google Apps
