2 R9 280x's for Eyefinity?

Would 2 280x's (specifically Sapphire Vapor-X ones) play most games on high/very high settings on 3 1080p monitors at least 45+ FPS?

You would be better of with getting a single 290X now and upgrading to Xfire in the future.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

The 280x is for a different build.

Depending on the game I think you'll be looking at medium-high.

Mostly racing games, but I will play some FPS shooters like CS:GO, and maybe GTA.

CSGO fine GTA V no way.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

They are quite powerfully cards but you will probably hit a vram wall that will effete the games very had and not worth it IMO.Get some 8gb 290x's or wait for the 300 series cards.
