The 7850k with DDR3-1866 ram could run BF4 on high settings, so yes that APU will be pretty good since its the newer one

The CPU part of that APU is said to be slightly more powerfull than i3 from Intel. The GPU part on that APU is quite capable for playing less demanding games on 1080p like League of Legends, Dota 2, Team Fortress, Counter Strike, etc...

You would be still better of to go with dedicated graphics card if you plan on playing new AAA games.

On 720p resolution maybe... no way you can play BF4 with that APU on high settings at 1080p.

Plus it would be super silly to pair that CPU with the GTX 970/R9-290X, not so for lower end cards, but for those.. it's a bad choice.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Athlon 860K/i3 + 750ti/260x is a much better option.

Avoid G3258

AMD 860K @ 4.3GHz ; Kingston HyperX Fury 2400MHz ; Asus A88XM-Plus ; Sapphire R9 270X 2GB ; 600W Tacens Radix VII AG 80+Silver  ; Cooler Master TX3 Evo

Its an OK chip, but pair it with a mid range card tops, it might severly bottleneck high end GPUs.

If you're going for gaming, go for the FX-8320.

Unless you are absolutely forced to buy AMD, nobody should be recommending the 8320 anymore....Seriously. There are so much more value for money among Intel products.

The Mistress: Case: Corsair 760t   CPU:  Intel Core i7-4790K 4GHz(stock speed at the moment) - GPU: MSI 970 - MOBO: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 - RAM: Crucial Ballistic Sport 1600MHZ CL9 - PSU: Corsair AX760  - STORAGE: 128Gb Samsung EVO SSD/ 1TB WD Blue/Several older WD blacks.
