Looking for a new headset for gaming and listening to music within a £100 - £200 ($150 - $300) price bracket
Currently running from on board audio so I don't have an amplifier, DAC or sound card

Ok. I was in your position like 2 years ago.

GET A HEADPHONE +MODMIC / EXTERNAL MIC!!! NEVER FALL INTO THE GAMING HEADSET HYPE!

I can't warn you enough.

So if you want recommendations, tell me what music you listen to, and what kindof sound you like.

Beyerdynamic DT770/990 with a modmic if I was in your position, it's better than any headset you can buy IMHO.

Probably something like vmoda LP 1/2 depending on budget + modmic/ vmoda gaming mic.

Vmodas are known for their V shaped bassy sound with awesome customization.

My friend has one and I think they're great for $120
