After Effects RAM Preview length problem!

I have just installed after effects on my new computer and when I do a RAM preview it only goes for around 17-18 seconds and I was wondering how I can get it to go longer? Thank You :)

Are you saying that the RAM preview stops before the end of the clip? Because usually the length of  RAM preview is dependent on how long the AE project is.

The length of your RAM previews are determined by the amount of RAM Adobe After Effects has access to, and how much of it is being used for the preview. For me, I am allowing After Effects to use 6GB of my 8GB installed, and I can RAM preview for about 25-35 seconds in Full Quality on the average project size. Have you tried manually turning down your playback quality? That could help reduce how much RAM is used per frame in your previews, allowing you more playback time!
