H100i Pump Noise

Hello Everyone,

I have had my system for a while now (it's actually the first pc I've built), and although I love it I've always been a bit dissatisfied with its noise level. I finally investigated more closely and discovered that the loudest component (when the fans are at a reasonable rpm) is the H100i pump. It's not intolerably loud, but it's nowhere near silent. This is dissapointing because I bought the H100i with the expectation that it would be very quiet.

I guess the qestion is twofold: 1. Is that worth being concerned about, or is the H100i pump expected to be somewhat loud? 2. If so, would this be covered under the Corsair warranty? How likely are they to replace it?

Thanks.

How long have you had your PC? If the pump is sounding loud, it might be close to the end of its life.

My H100i was dead silent, but it broke and leaked about 2 weeks after I purchased it. I'm way more happy with my H105, which was a replacement under Corsair Warranty.

You can try contacting them, but I doubt "loud" is a good enough reason.

"Loud" is always going to be relative in a PC. My H100i pump is the loudest component. But if I measure it, it's still only 30 Dba. I'm happyish with that, I'm prefer quieter, but I can live with it.

Actually my biggest problem with it is that no asetek pump I can find is user adjustable. Give me control over pump speed, and I'd be happy.

What case do you have and what orientation is the pump in? My H55 has a loud pump sound in my Elite 130 in it's normal orientation but when I have it on it's side, it's much quieter.

Thank you so much! I'm going to start angling my case now. How much do I need to tilt it by? Just a little bit or lots?

the more you tilt it the faster the noise should stop

I didnt want to tilt my case that mush so I only put about 1-2" lift under the back and it took a few weeks

Who will run the fan at maximum 2,200rpm?

Moreover, although the pump itself isn't particular loud. But when mounted on the mobo. The vibration transfers to the mobo that makes noise. As you probably also notice when the pump sits on the table.

People who dont use fan control software?

The issue with the stock fans I had previously was that the lower rpm I put them at, the more grinding noise they made

Yup, which I noticed a lot more on the kelvin S24 than H100i

When I had it in my case it didnt sound as loud as it did in the video though, so I guess its the vibrations just passing onto the camera which is also on the table
