Horrible Fps in Arma 3 and Insurgency

My specs 

 EVGA gtx 960 4gb FTW

Amd fx 8320

8gb Ram

 

I recently upgraded my graphics card on pc hoping for better fps in my games and for the most part i did see better fps but for some reason in these 2 games i did not see an improvement. In insurgency i will generally get around 20-30 frames and sometimes get 60. As far as Arma goes pretty much i am always at 30 or below. I dont usually question my frame rate but today i was talking to one of my friends with a gtx 960 2gb and a fx 6300 and he said he gets 60+ fps in Arma and way over 100 in insurgency I just dont understand why mine is so low please help.

Maybe you pushed the settings much higher then your freind did

Those are really low frames for insurgency, thats a pretty easy game to run.  Not sure what could be the cause tho.

arma is a horribly optimized game.

 

what's your temps playing the game(s)?

Yeah Arma is arma at the end of the day but i feel like those are still super low frame rate. My temps when running are gpu- 50 C with 35% usage in game cpu- 30 C 30% usage in game
