microsoft office install on a USB drive

davidarad02

I have a copy of windows office 2007 Small business (yes I know it's old but thats what I have) on a CD, and I want to put it onto my new gaming PC, but it doesn't have an optical drive.

I have a laptop that has an optical drive, so can I somehow put the installer on the flash drive threw my laptop, and move it to my desktop, where i'll install it?is such a thing possible, and if so, do you know how (aka instruction because I have no idea what to do about this).

btw just so you now, I bought my CD a while back, and it came loaded with 3 copies of office, and I used it once already, so I have 2 left.

Quote me if you want to say something. Only way i'll see something.

I have the same version of office as you and from what i can remember, (i don't have it immediately to hand), you can simply clone the CD to the USB drive and office will use it either way.

also, do you know if that version of office is compatible with windows 8.1 pro, and windows 10 pro? because those are the operating systems I am and will be running

I have 8.1 not pro and it works with that but windows is very good at backwards compatibility so i assume it will work on 10. I do need to check that so will do it probably tomorrow on the developer preview
