Last advice on build before I buy parts.

I have just gathered the rest of the money together for my first system and am torn between 2 different one's. I keep changing my mind every day or 2 because they are both roughly about the same price but the difference is they are on different platforms.

 

The system is going to be used for a wide range of tasks such as gaming on 1080p, virtualization, web development, software development, some video rendering and every other day tasks such as browsing the web and word documents.

 

None of the builds include an SSD as I have already purchased one. I also do not need a monitor or keyboard/mouse

i'd personally recommend the second build with the 980, I'd need the gfx power more than two addtional cores

well at a quick glace, the second build will only accel at gaming, the 1st build will accel at everything else though...so its weighing how much gaming you are going to be doing over the other stuff

the first one is more of a balanced all around build, while the second one is geared more for gaming, so I can see how it is a tough choice. If you won't be doing much gaming get the first.

I will be playing games such as Battlefield hardline, Black ops III when it is released, dying light, GTA V, CSGO, NBA 2k15, Fifa 15 and football manager 2015.

You should be fine for 1080p gaming with the 970, and the 6 cores would help a lot with your content creation, but if you just want a baller gaming rig and the other stuff isn't as important, get the 980

Ok thanks, Would there be anything you would change in the 5820k build or should everything be fine also I may end up changing the GPU to something like the 980ti or the r9 390x when they get released, also if there is a good deal on black friday.
