I guess it makes sense. Just like the Titan card doesn't follow conventional GTX naming

Why? I like the name.. Unlike nvidia naming scheme in which the just change one last letter.

 

I would much prefer to say "oh I have a GeForce 780ti, or a Titan X" not a "hey guys I got the new super mega radeon explosion 2000" actually that would be a cool name

I hope that I'm wrong but I don't think that AMD is going to impress many people with their new lineup. They have taken too long and are still rebranding cards from 3 years ago.

when you think about it titan is actually an excellent naming choice by Nvidia. its bold but also sensible and sort of locks amd out of using similar words
