If you are gaming at 1080p on a 970 you are going to want to have a 144hz monitor cause otherwise you are just wasting money.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Either IPS or 144 Hz. The Ultrasharp 2414H is nice. I have heard good things about it.

I'm so sick of hearing this. The 970 will get about 80 fps on the highest settings at 1920x1200 2xMSAA according to Guru3D. Both you and I know that the framerate is going to fluctuate depending on the scene, and I bet it would drop below 60 at times. So why is a 970 overkilled for 1080p 60hz gaming again?

What in crysis? You are just waisting money when a cheaper card will push 60fps ultra settings at 1080p.

Sorry, I meant in GTA 5.

I have a Dell U2414H and it's really good, i love the super thin borders. Dells monitor mounts are the best too. Just know that it doesn't support VGA or DVI, it only supports HDMI and Displayport.

I believe the monitor uses an LG panel. If you want something a little cheaper with the same quality panels but with a simpler monitor mount you should look at LGs own monitors.

Strange you didn't list LG in the first place.

GTA V If you are happy to turn down a couple of settings like view distance (I think that's the one I mean.) Then you will be able to play ultra on a 970.
