Looking for a GPU with 0 RPM option

dbcooper

I use a HD 7850 2GB and it's more than enough for what I do. I need a similarly powerful GPU but with 0 RPM option and < USD150

Thanks!

Sold my build..

You might be able to mod the bios to achieve this on your current card

Well you could always disconnect the fans on the stock cooler and replace them with other fans that you could then control with thermals, or something similar. But that's probably a bit much effort for what you want.

That's only on certain models.

Some 900 series models come with a fanless mode by default, others don't.

It needs to be modded to be able to have the fanless mode the lowest fan setting 35% if I remember correctly on the G1 970.

As mentioned the Strix 960 would be something within that price range with the silent mode.

For lower budget the Strix 750ti would be around that $150 mark.

There is the 750 Ti Palit with no fan... slower than the HD 7850 and not available in the US though.

Palit GTX 750 Ti KalmX 2 GB

Nope, it only went down to roughly 40% fan speed before I modded it.

You're not likely to find this.

There are fanless low end cards like the sapphire 250, or APU's/iGPU.  Then there is Maxwell wherein some 960/970 and 980 models have their fans disabled on idle.

What I would do is simply make a fan profile that lowers your fan speed to ~15-25% until temperatures pass a desired threshold and then ramp up.  Or wait to see if AMD jumps on the fanless bandwagon with the 360/370 or something.
