Does the R9 290x DirectCU ii have a fanless mode?

Will not fans not spin when the card is under 60c?

I believe that feature is only available on Strix cards.

the DCUII cooler does not come with fanless mode

but I think there are some BIOS hacks that can make it possible? or maybe that was only for the 700 nvidia GPUs, i cant remember...

What you can do, is similar... Using MSI Afterburners fan curves.

Set MIN fanspeed (20-25%) and leave it at that speed until it ramps up to 60-65*c.

Cos it's silent at idle,.. you won't hear it,.. it will be like the EXACT same thing...

The cooler runs so hot so even if you find a bios hack for it i would never run that cooler on that card fanless.

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

It is available on all 900 series cards I believe

Even if you strap the Strix cooler to a 290X, fan less mode is a no go for hawaii Chips. They're simply just too hot.
