Well if you're not looking into gaming and just want a editing and rendering computer, here are some parts you 100% need

Good processor - I'd get a i7 processor but I feel like you could get away with a i5

8-16 GB of RAM - I currently has 8 GB of ram and if I have a lot of programs open and trying to edit and make things for my video, 8GB of ram usually does well but can fall behind if you're doing a bunch of things at once. I'm sure to upgrade my ram when I can to 16gb but 8gb is a good place to start

SSD - I believe with installing your os, video editing software, and saving your exported file to your ssd: it'd go just a bit fast as it wouldn't be held back by read and write delay

Decent graphics card - you don't need something that can run GTA V max settings to render videos. Just something with CUDA and Open GL. Lots of editing programs take advantage of the Open GL so it would easily help render times with the correct settings in your editing software

Good PW - I think that with all the things to get fast render times your computer will be really power hungry. Make sure you get the right amount to help your computer work when under load

Very good cooling - your computer is going to get really hot, really fast. Make sure you get cooling for your CPU and your computer has tons of air flow to ensure they don't overheat.

No mother board is really needed as long as it supports your selected parts

How much storage SSD/HD depends on you

Make sure you get reliable ram

The case just needs good air flow. Don't need lights or super fancy looking cases for a editing machine

Your CPU cooler is a must (at least it would be for me) but you probably could get away with the cooler included with your CPU. Depends on how you feel about hot CPUs

OS... W7 is the best route to go but really anything Windows would work. I currently have Windows 10 Tech Preview and although it has it's bugs here and there it can still edit and render just like W8/7 could. So your OS doesn't really effect the build

I will do some gaming

Well this changes things. Currently I have a build that I was looking at doing in the future for my gaming and editing.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6RRhZL

It's received positive (and of course negative) feed back and this final build seems to look good.

It's in a black and red theme with the specs to run games well (on paper it says it will)

I am actually building this for gaming, video editing, and graphic design so I feel like this will also fit your needs.
