Do people actualy keep their PC clean?

As a loyal subscriber of Linus that I see my self as, I've been wondering for a while now about whether people keep their PCs as clean as they appear in some of LTTs videos, I see that Linus will likely give whatever is staring in the show a good dust up before it appears but it seems when ever I see a computer anywhere it has far less dust in it than mine, don't get me wrong I do blow the dust out from time to time but I never really take it apart and dust things down.

 

To wrap things up I want to know if leaving my main computer to collect its dust like this will be a bad thing or should I actually start to do something about it?

Minimum of every 18months I get in and take care of business.

 

Sometimes before 18 months is up.. around the 12-14 months mark I mentally remind myself, or just do it that day I remind myself...

 

Moreso if I'm on carpet, currently not.

 

Take it outside,..with a can of compressed air,... would be enough for most to get by...

I dust the outside often and clean the dust filter every 2 weeks.

The inside is a bit complicated though.I often clean it on the surface, but the last time I for example took off my CPU cooler was 2 years ago..

It's not running very hot though and not making a lot of noise, so never bothered to clean it

I do my clients PC's every 12 months, if still in frequent contact with them...

I usually clean the air filters once or twice a month and do a more thorough cleaning 2-3 times a year.

I say I clean the dust out 4 times a year or so.  If temperatures are an issue or performance is clearly not what it should be I usually get to cleaning the pc.

But canned air is not free though. And you got to clean up your desk too, if you dont do it outside

I use to clean my PC at the beginning of the month. I would tear out all the fans and clean them perfectly with a Q-tip.

 

Now not so often. I'll clean it maybe 2-3 times a year. Every time I pull it apart there is never as much dust as I think it would have.

Normally I'll clean it when it's time to drain my loop and clean the blocks/rads since I will be disassembling the GPU's and CPU I may as well clean the whole thing. So every 12 months. I'll clean the filters when I remember that they are there  :lol:.

Air = $4-8 and say 10minutes... That's nothing. Think of how much we spend on our whole systems... A little can of air is nothing..

I dust it out once every 6 months with canned air. Can't be bothered to disassemble it like others do it.

I keep it on my desk, and that alone kinda prevents dust in a way. Filters do the rest, I only feel the need to clean it head to toe once a year.

But I'm not shooting videos about its insides nor do I put it on catwalks.
