Software for cleaning an OS for free?

Go to solution Solved by dfsdfgfkjsefoiqzemnd,

CCleaner portable.  Put it on a stick, installing it on a publicly accessible PC is risky due to the destructive power if you click the wrong options.

A simple defrag will work miracles too.  (start menu -> All Programs -> accessories -> system tools -> Disk Defragmenter, but you can also type "defrag" in the start menu's search box)

Hi, I am at my internship and my boss has asked me to do research to find good software for cleaning the OS of the windows 7 machines. He told me he would like something that would clean them up and make them run faster. these computers are public computers, so they are used by children, senior citizens and pretty much anyone in the community. But my internship cite doesn't have a lot of money since it is a community center therefor this software must be free. I thank you for any recommendation since it will help out a lot.

Portable Ccleaner would be the best option, after that you may want to think about Revo Uninstaller to remove unwanted junk programs.

De-fragmenting the disks may make them run a bit faster.

CCleaner is a must have in a tech's arsenal, tbh, so good.

Defrags are also good, although ONLY on mechanical drives. Do not defrag solid state, just, don't. :)

Other than CCleaner, Win 7 has some things you can do.

Disk Cleanup

msconfig (disable unused programs at startup)

Defragmenting (only for HDDs)

High Performance option in Windows

Instead of chrome, try Firefox or Opera.
