Hello, I'm new to the forums, and I need help building a strong future capable gaming rig. Here's a link to my current PC plan please tell me if their is any way I could get more performance, whilst still able to maintain 144 fps over 3x 144hz monitors.

For a 295x2 the min psu is 850w: such as EVGA 850 G2

However even with a 295x2, getting above 60fps for triple 1080p will be hard enough in AAA games never mind 144fps.

What games you play?

I feel that the graphics card is not going to pull of 144fps on 3 monitors, especially if they're 1440p :(

Just pointing this out, it's a 1080p monitor. It might be able to run it on lower settings, but I don't really know much about the 295x2.

R9 290X2 draws 774watts of power on load.

GTX 980 only draws 1/2 of that.

Your power supply would burst into flames after killing every component connected to it.  I would just go with a 980.

144fps on all 3 monitors is quite a tall order.

295x2 is similar to 2x 970's

I currently have a 295x2 and a single 1080p monitor (upgrading soon :)) and get around 100 - 120fps in most games at max settings.

144fps is near impossible without reducing quality.

If needed I am willing to go to 1 monitor, or turn down details and settings.

I would recommend:

Single 1080p at 100-144fps

Single 1440p at 70-100fps (This is what I'm going for - 144hz ips freesync)

Edit: Looking at your games, you could get closer to 120fps at 1440p. Google 295x2 review for game benchmarks.

the 980 poseidon is significantly more expensive considoring you'll need to watercool it. the 295x2 (while performing bettter) is already watercooled.

most of the time it needs a little more than 500w. i would calculate with 600 to be safe. the total system would draw 800 then. more if youre gonna overclock which i would recommend. the lepa maxbron 1000w would do the job fine.

considering the 295x2 draws higher than the standard atx power from each 8pin cable, you're going to need to make damn well sure your power supply is up to snuff. you'll need a high power quality (preferably single rail) power supply. as good as antec is, that power supply won't cut it at all.

My rig:
CPU: i5 4690k 24/7 @4.4ghz (1.165v) Max 4.7ghz (1.325v) COOLER: NZXT Kraken X61 MOBO: Asus Z97-A   RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical   GPU: EVGA GTX 970 SSC   PSU: EVGA GS 650W   CASE: NZXT Phantom 530 HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB + WD Black 2TB
