Fifa 16 will feature women as players

EA Sports announced today that women will finally be allowed into its annual popular Fifa Soccer simulations, starting with this year's FIFA 16.

 

 
 

 

 

"For us, it was more about getting the most of the best players," said Nick Channon, producer for FIFA 16. "The international women's game is big. Obviously that's where the best players are. We wanted to start there."

I guess this will be the only new feature in FIFA16  :D I like it though. Hope they'll have more comming.

This shouldn't even be news. I should just be standard. 

 

Wouldn't bother me so much if female players weren't such a heavily advertised "feature." That whole trailer was basically just a reminder of how big a deal it is that they've finally figured out how to render a female after 16 iterations.

Very cool, and the PC modding community will likely create entire women leagues for career mode now that female character models are in the game. 

 

I have 650 hours in Fifa 15 on PC at the moment. Will likely be up to 700-750 by the time Fifa 16 comes out. Can't wait to see the other new features EA adds to it. Fifa 15 was a huge step up from 14. 

 

That week is going to be crazy. Fifa 16 and then a week later NBA 2k16!

 

And I've got the Witcher 3 to keep me satisfied till then.

For some people it will be a big deal. For me, playing as a character that I like to identify as makes the game a lot more enjoyable. And to people that play games as a way to escape from life, it makes life itself a lot more enjoyable. So it's no some meaningless addition.

I suppose that makes sense. Personally I wouldn't care if the npcs looked like squids to be honest ^^ not that fifa is my kind of game anyway.
