Fractal Design Newton R3 Smart Modular 1000W, how good?

Zohan2000

so on a PC website in Australia, this PSU is going for $200 AUS and was wondering, how good is it really? it is 1000 Watts and 80+ Platinum which sounds great and also a 5 year warranty, but how will it handle say 980s in sli or 980 Ti in sli (when they release) and maybe some overclocking with the GPUs and CPU watercooled, is $100 AUS cheaper than the Corsair HX1000i 80+ Platinum PSU, so what are your thoughts?

That PSU will handle all that just fine.

An 850w will be enough for GTX 980/ti SLI. The EVGA G2 850W is an excellent psu with a 10 year warranty.

It's decent but not the best and overkill for your needs. As stated above, an 850G2 will be all that you really need. https://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220g20850xr

Unless you plan on doing 3-way SLI, 1000W is overkill
