U2868PQU Cant 3840x2160@60hz

Go to solution Solved by Glenwing,

Well i already had 8Gb from my old system and its enough for now, will buy more when needed.

Well this is strange... I did choose 1.2 mode then amd popped error message like that then i tried 1.1 mode and in settings there were 50hz option, when i choose that screen just goes black and reverts back to 30hz.

I tried to trick it and open that 50hz option and from screen setting put it back to 1.2 mode but it just says that cannot do that  and i may not have enough rights for that-

Could be a faulty cable causing that.

So i bought new system and i run this problem where i cant use 4k resolution at 60hz but i can use it at 30hz. I am using displayport 1.2 but makes no difference, i tried to reinstall amd catalyst and drivers but now its 3200x1800@60hz

Specs are:

Win 8.1 64bit

4790k

R9 295x2

8Gb hyperx predator

1300w superflower

And the screen in question is : Aoc U2868PQU

I dont understand why you only have 8GB of RAM with an i7 and 290x2 but anyway most 4k displays only work at 30hz.

I believe that monitor is set to DP 1.1 mode by default for compatibility. Go into the monitor's menu and look for a DisplayPort version setting, make sure it's at 1.2.

8GB is a good amount of RAM, and most 4K display work at 60Hz, including this one.

Okk now this is really strange... I decided to connect my hdmi cable with MiniDp to screen and computer and now it says i have 2 screen and the other is 60Hz. It's screen number 2 and i only have 1 screen. In my screen i have input select to auto. I can't chance the order that screen 1 would change to screen 2. Ugh my little brain hurts.
