best motherboard for longevity

new to the forum. i was looking on the forum but did not see any recent topics on this, so my budget is around 2000 to 2500 and i already have two evga 970 sli so that does not need to be included in my budget. i want a decent gaming rig that will last at least a couple years. so i am looking for a good mobo that i can upgrade later on with more ram preferably something with ddr4 kind of figure that will be around for a while. also i need to be able to put both gpu and a wifi card. and i would love to be able to use either a corsair 760t artic or a corsair 750d love those 2 case. love to water cool but that can be done down the line.... thanks in advance for all the help

DDR4 means that you need to buy an X99 board, which means more expensive motherboard, more expensive cpu, and DDR4 is also massively more expensive than DDR3 with basically no performance difference in any games.  You don't need X99 or DDR4 for anything that you mentioned, and to be honest it would be cheaper in the long run to stick with socket 1150, or wait until the release of skylake and go with socket 1151.  The motherboard, cpu, ram combo would be like half the price, giving you plenty of cash to invest into future upgrades.

Your price is also overkill for what you want.  Here is a beast of a build that surpasses all of your requirements, wireless card included.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($229.99 @ SuperBiiz)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H110i GT 113.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler  ($129.99 @ Micro Center)
Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VII HERO ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($198.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Corsair 750D ATX Full Tower Case  ($119.99 @ Micro Center)
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer  ($16.98 @ OutletPC)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit)  ($86.98 @ OutletPC)
Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WDN4800 802.11a/b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter  ($38.84 @ Amazon)
Total: $1309.40
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

The included CPU cooler is assuming you will be trying to get the best overclock.  If you don't plan on overclocking stick with the stock cooler, or if you plan on overclocking a little get a hyper 212 evo, and if you want to overclock a fair amount, but aren't trying to push the limits get a corsair h80i, noctua nh-d14, noctua nh-d15, or phanteks ph-tc14pe.

In fact, x99 can be worse for games since the CPUs have lower clockspeeds. x99 only becomes recommended when you plan on doing things like video editing, encoding, uploading streams, and things of that nature which utilize more than 4 cores.

If you mean you want a motherboard that will allow you to upgrade your CPU well into the future, well there is nothing like that available right now since skylake is the next generation of CPUs being released and that is going to be using a completely new socket 1151.  Currently there are no socket 1151 boards out, so you will just have to wait.  And for how long this new socket is going to be usable is anyones guess.  They could change the socket again on the next generation of CPUs, meaning you will have to buy a new motherboard to upgrade your CPU again anyway.
