Which Video Card is "Best"?

Hey, guys!

Okay - So my build is almost totally complete (virtually), but I have one dilemma... Picking the best video card.

Currently it's between the MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V and the EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB FTW ACX 2.0. Both are almost the exact same price ($340 USD), have the same amount of memory (4GB), and both support 3-way SLI. The only real difference between these cards (besides the design) seems to be the core clock speed. MSI's video card is clocked at 1.14GHz and EVGA's is clocked at 1.22GHz.

Would there be any noticeable performance difference between the two cards while gaming?

Which card would you suggest?

the EVGA will probably have 1-5FPS or so of an increase depending on the game.

I'd go for the EVGA card.

What advantages does 290x have?

alot cheaper ($70)

4gb of full speed ram

same fps

much better opencl (computation of math essentially)

only drawback is you need a 550w+ psu

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

How many guys actually do 4-way SLI. A feature looks good on paper but with little practical importance.

You waste your money with the green team.

 Do they have a bad reputation or is your comment just personal preference? I am looking into the 290x right now, though.

Personally I love the 290X because its cheap and Kicks the balls off a 970 when you put my rig of dual 290X's beside my buddy's dual 970's, he only beat me with Witcher 3 but thats cause hairworks castrates AMD cards, everything else I win.

Does not matter, all cards are equally silicon lottery dependent.
