Best Way To Get Windows 8?

DaJellyDanish

So building a new computer and find it's ridiculous to have to spend $100+ dollars just for windows. Is there any place besides the Microsoft store where I could get a non-pirated version for cheaper?

Thanks in advance

If you're a student and have DreamSpark, you can get it for free there.

I find that you can get some pretty good deals on Windows from Dabs.com. Also, you can just buy the product key from the Microsoft Store which is normally cheaper.

"Have you tried turning it off and on again?"

This as well. ^

You can also get other software from Microsoft like Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, etc.

Do you know of any differences between "Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro with Update" from dreamspark, and a regular OEM/retail key?

Thank you,

Thank you,

Seems pretty much the same as a regular 8.1 license.

Is your key good indefinitely, or do you need to re verify your student status every year, etc.

Yep, it is. It just has more features allowing it to be implemented into devices more easily.
