It's fun, it's hard. it has mods which expand the games functionality a whole tonne.

Hard to say  if it's worth it though, do you like games like that?

By what means is it hard?

You are attempting to build rockets and making them orbit the earth and moon.

Great fun to toy with, Steep learning curve (very very easy at a super basic level, actual rocket science required to master it) Very expandable with mods.

Is it worth $40 US, i'd honestly say probably not, I got it back long before it was on steam and going for like $15 and am glad that I did. I'd suggest waiting for a 50% off sale

At heart it's a simulator game. The physics may not be real world but they make things like landing on the Mun (Moon) rather hard, or at least it was for me.

Example; You're orbiting the Mun at say 2300 m/s but you need to slow down you have have 0 velocity in any direction apart from the gravity pulling you towards the center, which is requried otherwise you'd land sideways and crash, getting it exact takes some practice.

Take a look at some of the videos by Scott Manly on youtube, see if the kinds of things he does in the game would spark your interest, he is obviously pretty good at the game but it might give you a better idea than what we can

"Rocket science - how hard can it be?"

Only you can answer that question for yourself. How much do you know about Rocket science?

Thankfully the game allows you to still have fun even if you don't have good understanding of fuel efficiency. Or optimal air resistance when ascending and what gravity burns are. And many more things.

Do you like space? If yes, then it's insta-buy.

If not, get CS or whatever teens use these days.

Is it worth $40?  Depends.  I tend to look at a game's value as it's cost relative to the amount of time spent playing it.

If you are just going to fool around a bit at basic level then probably not because it will rapidly get boring and you will not use it much.

If you are going to delve into it then it is easily worth twice the price because (assuming you count both the time spent running the program, and the time you spend learning, figuring, and planning how to make your build successful) not only will you spend a tremendous amount of time on the game, you will also learn a lot, all while exercising your creativity and problem solving skills.

If you're gonna derp around like people do in GTA it'll get boring real quick. If you try to learn and advance your understanding of physics, then it's great and your money would be well spent.

Depends, are you patient? Are you okay with spending hours testing an aircraft or spending hours on trying to fly a lander to a planet and then crashing it because your landing skills aren't there yet? So yes, I'd say, it's hard, especially career mode is near-impossible.

Depends on your interests. And I do recommend Scott Manley vids too :)

I really enjoy KSP. It goes on most sales for $30 if you dont need to have it right away.

I just landed Jeb on Minmus on Monday.

Prepare to experiment a lot. It's not what I would call an easy game.

I actually want to learn more physics as I am beginning to teach myself physics lol, so maybe I will like it? Does it really take hours of practice?

Yes. It'll require you to learn some basic orbital physics, nothing too complicated. What'll take hours is figuring out ways to do stuff, reading on the wiki, etc.

It's really a game that takes up a lot of time to master. I recommend you to look at a few videos from Scott Manley to decide whether you like it.

Ok thanks everyone, I downloaded the demo and I will try it out to see if I will like it as well as looking at some videos
