Taking into consideration that it's body-only and the 18-55mm lens is $80, I don't know that I can say it's worth the wait. You can get one from Amazon or B&H now for $496.95, and that's only ~$27 than this Massdrop. The difference is, you can have it now from Amazon or B&H.

But if you live in Canada. +$500,

You must "Quote" to get my attention.

But if you live in Canada. +$500,

$460USD (the cost of the body+lens from Massdrop) is ~$570CAD, which is just as much as Amazon Canada has it for.

Eh.

Canon = sports photojournalism

Nikon = everything else

Professionally speaking. Even for video I'll take the camera with the better low light sensitivity/ dynamic range and wide angle/ normal fixed optics. A few extra FPS presets matters not. Especially since Nikon has caught up in most regards when it comes to video features on mid-range or better cameras, like microphone inputs and accessories.

However, amateurs might find Canon smarter in the entry-level range if video capability is important.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

At least Nikon has been pushing forward, unlike Canon (when it comes to consumer market, at least) who have been doing very little, if nothing, in the past few years.

Though I'm still waiting for Nikon to allow us to change aperture while in live view... They still lock it for live view, and for videos this kinda sucks. If it wasn't for that fact, then there would be very little reason to go towards Canon anymore regarding video, they have closed the gap.

DSLR market needs more competition... just like CPU and GPU market.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

Except the new low end Nikons have more features for video than canon and are basically on par if not better

Canon is only for video when you are talking about the C100 and C500, anything below the D810 is still good for video and comparible with canon (outside of a hacked 5dmk3)
