Best Yellow/Gold Coolant?

Go to solution Solved by W-L,

Ok, So if i WERE to go with the Mayhems Aurora coolant I would have to change it every couple months? That sucks... What if i went with the Pastel yellow? would that be better? I want something that can be in the system in the long term. Is Mayhems Pastel yellow the way to go? Or would it be better to get the X1 UV Yellow/Green? Does the UV Yellow/Green Look okay, or does it look green? I haven't ever purchased it before..

I Also found some Amber colored tubing.. but it looks more brown, not gold.. Hmm Gold may be a hard coolant to find, I may have to go with yellow

Gold coolant is hard to replicate without being too dark or too light it seems, the aurora lineup seems to look the closest since it has that flake in it and it shimmers.

For long term use the Pastel line is the way to go I personally have pastel white for a good couple of months now with no problems, the recommended time to change the pastel coolants is about 6-12months

Very soon I will be doing a hard tubing build that will be mostly for show, I don't plan on using it too much, but I do want to be able to boot and use it if I have to. The build will be in a custom Black and Gold Parvum S2.0 case, and I want to stick with that color scheme. I have all of the other parts that ill need but I cant really find a good coolant. I will be going with clear hard-line tubing, so I need a Gold or Yellow coolant.

Like I said, the build is mostly for show, But it will also be used for the first few B-Roll shots that will go into my new Custom Computer Business. The machine will also be taken to shows and such too, so it needs to look top notch. Because its mostly for show would it be okay to go with a Pastel Yellow from Mayhems? Or is there a good coolant out there that is more gold colored? Would it be bad to just fill the build with coolant and only use it every once in a while? Should i get something other then pastel? I heard that the pastel coolants aren't good for long term use, and I don't wanna change the coolant just to boot the machine..

I need something that is Gold colored, but I would settle with yellow if i have to...

Collecting every single CPU in existence? Is it possible? I have no idea, but i'm sure gonna try! http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/341848-dont-throw-away-old-cpus-im-collecting/

Mayhem's Pastels coolant are good for long term use but the Aurora lineup that has particles in the coolant are not recommended for long term use. They do look good in show systems however but need to be changed and maintained every few months from what they say.

Thanks

Are you making a build log of this build I've seen a few of your posts for this watercooling machine and it sounds really interesting.  :P

Well, actually thats the main reason I do these builds, for videos and for shows and stuff. I have a HUGE build coming up that will run me about 5 grand overall. But I think ill be doing this build first. So yeah, I do plan to do both a written build log as well as videos. I also want to use these builds for b-roll and examples of what I can do as a custom builder. I want to start a buisness of doing exciting custom builds for people, but first I feel like I have to have a couple of machines that I can show off and I just dont have that yet. Ive been building computers for about 4 years now as a hobby, But i recently lost my job so im trying to turn it into a way of getting some income. even if its just one or two builds a month, id be happy. I LOVE building computers, and it would be cool to be able to do that for other people! But its hard to get funding for these first couple of builds that I will be paying for myself, and without a job they are all still in the planning stages unfortunately. Its just hard to get people to see how good I really am, and how much experience I have. No one wants to invest in someone if they dont have any examples.

The build that im talking about in this thread is going to cost right around 1500... and I just dont have that kind of money, so I make the plans, get EVERYTHING figured out, then when I can I will hopefully be able to do it and make this crazy dream of mine take off.. its just so daunting sometimes :/
