Max CPU cooler height is 2.5 inch.

Noctua recently released a new cooler for that. NH-L9ix65. Should fit your needs perfectly.

Thanks for correcting me! I watched a hardware canucks (however you spell it) video and he said 3 inches so that's why I wrote that ;)

I will be running a Intel i5 under this cooler. I think the Noctua nH-L9 will do. Which is better the a or the i version?

The l9a is meant for amd systems. The l9i is the cooler you will want.

OK thanks. Do you think this will help with the cooling on a i5 compared to the stock fan?

I can't tell. But if we take what luke got with the l12, and that was just barely better than stock, I would say this will perform the same, just not as loud.

But I could be wrong. It could perform slightly better. But don't hope for the temps you would get with something like a noctua c12/c14 or a tower cooler.

I think a Corsair Hydro Series, H80i CW-9060008-WW (if it only fit with the 1150 socket) used in the front of the case would be better since the Noctua solution might not be that Mich better than the stock

It will be a better option. I would still prefer a coolermaster nepto 120xl, because the block looks better, but meh.

The l9i is up to 65W only, i'd use the l9x65 for an i5. Also, don't use watercoolers in such small cases unless you're putting everything under water. You take a big hit on airflow.

Small cooler cannot handle overclocking. I'm running a Noctua NH L9x65(bigger brother of L9i) with a i7 3770(non-K). It does reach 65*C under stress test, but already a whopping 15*C better than stock Intel cooler.

I'll use L9x65 instead of L9i if your case does fit a 65mm tall cooler.

I guess I'll get a different case or just keep the one I have now - small enough but big enough to fit a full size cooler

With Haswell you can overclock on it probably, with an i5. But you need to lower the delta by delidding. So yeah.. it IS possible, but not with stock components.

You can run 4ghz on the stockfan of the 4670K with some voltmodding, delidding and stuff :P
