More ram or faster ram?

Hi guys I am building a new pc but i already have 8gb of 1596 Mhz speed and I was wondering should I buy another 16 gb of the same ram or get 16gb of faster ram as.

Basically what I am asking is should i get 24gb of slow ram or 16 of fast one?

More. Ram speed does not help that much that you would notice. More is better

You're probably going to be better off with getting more RAM than faster RAM. That being said, you may run into diminishing returns with both anyways.

more ram, because speed doesn't really matter, but you don't really need more ram 8gb is enough for most things. I guess my real question s what is the system going to be used for?

8gb of the same RAM you have on that list would be fine, unless you have a specific program(s) or uses that would utilize more than 8gb.

For gaming, you will see no difference going past 16 GB, even 8 GB is more than most games will use.

When in doubt, re-format.

EVGA 220-G2-0750-XR is a much better psu.

As others have said, more memory is better than faster. Generally, all memory will run with the settings of the module with the lowest speed and loosest/slowest timings.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
