I think Hardware is more easy because you can just RMA something but software you have to go into registry and shit

only works if it's under warranty.

I would hardware is worse as it's not something you can really "fix" software gets fixed pretty quickly.

I'd rather spend an hour in the registry and running anti-malware softwares than having to wait days for a new component to arrive. And honeslty in two years with this computer I've never had any major software issues, as long as you're using a proper antivirus software and use your brain, you shouldn't have too many problems.

You actually have control over software issues, while most of the time hardware issues will be caused by a defective component or tear/wear.

I have had a fair amount of software issues, some of which I have spent hours and hours trying to fix, before giving up and just living with it. But with hardware once it goes pop, it aint going to magically bring its self back to life and you can't just ignore it like it never happened.

Therefore I would say a hardware issue is far worse to have.

Thing is, hardware issues can cause what it looks like software issues even if that's not the case.

I would say they are both about the same in terms of levels of suck, they just have different kinds of suck. Like, software, most of the time, a registry clean will sort out a lot of the problems. If you have a hardware issue, it usually means that part of the computer is basically bricked but you can get it replaced. Depending on what it is, hardware problems can definitely make you shit a lot more bricks than just a software glitch, which you can take care of with some precautions, or at least not have to start from scratch. Just recently got the click of death from my mass drive and my face turned white as a sheet.

Two words:

Corsair Link.

Absolutely terrible. Worked once correctly. Now my fans are plugged into a proper fan controller and the LED stays Rose Pink.

Hardware issues are usually pretty easy to diagnose and easy to fix, though costly.

Software issues are often nearly impossible to diagnose and sometimes completely impossible to fix.

Take for example the Nvidia driver bug where if you have a 144 hz monitor, netflix causes your screen to turn into rainbow static because of some hdcp problem. I reinstalled windows, drivers and silverlight, etc. until I eventually found the one forum post where it told me you needed to run your monitor at 120hz to fix it.
