Pranks for a LAN?

Anyone got any good suggestions for pulling pranks at a small LAN party (with 4-5 people)?

I'm here now, and I was thinking maybe download an SSH client on someone else's PC or maybe VNC or something similar and then just [redacted] around with their PC when they're on it.

Any other suggestions? Thanks :)

Add everyone's pc to an active directory controller and use Window's network shutdown command.

Or send networked messages to people via the command prompt  :P .

EDIT:

  • You could also change people's background image to a BSOD.
  • Change the keyboard layout in Windows to DVORAK or ColeMan, or to a different language entirely.
  • Change to default Windows UI font typeface to something like Wingdings (or Comic Sans) and watch everyone flip out.
  • Turn on high contrast settings.
  • Change the mouse cursor icon.
  • Reverse the left and right click mouse buttons.

I'll continue to add to this list as it comes to me.

We used to keep a few wireless mice in the wings for pranks. Plug the little micro adapter in the rear I/O, no one will spot it in a dark LAN. Then just wiggle it or click things randomly.

Watch the violence brew.

Wireless keyboards work too, but they're obviously harder to hide.

It was also always fun if someone left a Public shared folder unlocked. Just spam text files into it til they notice the hard drive space disappearing.

Or fill it with porn.

Either one works.

The New Machine: Intel 11700K / Strix Z590-A WIFI II / Patriot Viper Steel 4400MHz 2x8GB / Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC w/ Bykski WB / x4 1TB SSDs (x2 M.2, x2 2.5) / Corsair 5000D Airflow White / EVGA G6 1000W / Custom Loop CPU & GPU

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. RGB everywhere.

underclock their GPU to as low as you can, or uninstall drivers.

Take the key caps off their keyboard and make a small tower infront of their key-free board

Installing a Metasploit persistent reverse payload will grant you full admin access to their computer even after they take it home which will then allow you to create a pivot to exploit other computers on their home LAN.
