CPU/Mobo compatibility

I'm planning to get a core i5 4690k for my new build, and have heard that it isn't compatible with some z87 chipset motherboards. Is this true?

BTW if anyone was interested, here's my planned build:http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/tHQZCJ

it's somewhere in the bios i suppose. to avoid the hassle, i'd just go with a z97 motherboard.

gte an asus z97-a board...thats very decent...and not much expensive.
but seeing that you are gooing for an itx board and case...your motherboard options are a little limited
