Fan controller or Fan splitter?

lamdnhan

Howdy,

I'm having a problem managing fans for my case.

My plan is Bifenix Prodigy with 4 fans: 2 radiator fans, 1 front intake and 1 rear exhaust.

My mothetboard only has 3 fan headers. What would be the best solution to have control for all 4 fans? The pump can be powered by molex connector so it doesn't count.

Should I use Y fan header splitter for 2 radiator fans (corsair 120SP pwm)? I don't want to overloading the header. Or invest on an extra fan controller?

Fan controllers are not that much of a need since a good splitter will do the same

Beware of him that is slow to anger; for when it is long coming, it is the stronger when it comes, and the longer kept. Abused patience turns to fury.

Splitter IMHO because Its a little neater and its controllable in the BIOS (Though controllers do have BIOS control but Fan splitters are still a bit better)

Just use a splitter for the two radiator fans since you'll run them at the same speed. You won't overload the header, you can run at least 4 SP120 off of a header before you go outside comfortable current limits.
