Looking for some advice on GTX/PSU upgrade

Hello! I built my PC back in November and was on a bit of a tight budget (among other factors at play) and ended up buying this

430w EVGA PSU

2x 4GB Corsair 1333Mhz ram

ASUS GTX 650 1GB GDDR5

ASUS M5A78L-MUSB3 motherboard

Apex case from ncix since it was the cheapest thing there.

AMD FX6300

Anyway, I want to upgrade my GPU to a 970  but the thing is I can't come across and affordable price range, -/+300$ Cad  is the best i can do as I need to upgrade my PSU also.

Anyone have some advice or  suggestions where to look or what I can do?

EDIT; forgot to mention I'm Canadian, not sure if any prices mentioned are USD or CAD xD

Edit2: prices seems to be abit out there at the moment, alternatively if you want to, any links to giveaways or contests would be appreciated too.

R9 290 instead, then you can afford a PSU alongside it

-snip-

What CPU do you have?

Because with that motherboard I am expecting something FX or maybe Athlon..

That will possibly bottleneck the 970, so I would probably suggest something like a CPU upgrade too (and a GPU closer to a R9 280X or so)

There's always upgrading GPU later on. FX6/8 will benefit more from a GPU upgrade then CPU.

No it's not

I edited the first post.

the CPU is AMD FX6300 6core 3.5Ghz

My currency is canadian, anything  US is value * 1.22 + 13% tax

Trying to stay away from AMD, because of the heat rates

If anyone knows any giveaways or contests somewhere I suppose entering wont hurt. I been on Maingear's giveaways for a while but  those odds never played out for me yet xD
