1440p Monitor, 780ti

mattonfire

I recently just bought a 780ti over clocked, I know the 780to and the 970 have about the same performance but the 970 is cheaper but the 780ti was on a deal and became cheaper than the 970. Just put that out there before any complaints come my way.

I would like to up my game from 1080p to 1440p since the graphics card is really good in the games I'm running. I would really like a eye care/ anti eye strain monitor with 144hz. I cannot find one out there with eye care or anti eye stain. Thanks in advance.

A 780 Ti is better than a 970, you can definitely go 1440p without an issue. I'm also on the same boat but looking to get a higher res monitor for non-twitchy games. I don't mind 60fps on games like Skyrim/Witcher series etc. Just want to enjoy the eye-candy. :) Will be keeping the 1080p 120Hz monitor for CS:GO. Having a second monitor is also cool.

The Dell U2515H and ASUS PB258Q both have flicker-free backlights and low blue light modes if that's what you're looking for. Same with the U2715H and PB278QR (although the non-R does not have those).

Hi I looked at them, on none had a refresh rate of 144hz or more :(

Ah, I didn't see you wanted 144Hz. In that case your options are the BenQ XL2730Z which has a flicker-free backlight and low blue light mode, or the ASUS PG278Q which has a flicker-free backlight but no low blue light, but with both of these you are stuck with a TN panel (although a pretty high-grade one). The ASUS MG279Q and Acer XB270HU both have IPS panels with flicker-free backlights.

I found 2 144hz, 1440p monitors.

Which should I choose?

Acer:

- IPS

- 4ms reponce time

- No 3D

ASUS:

- TN

- 1ms reponce time

- 3D

Acer XB270HU (I find it best to follow TFTCentral's settings to calibrate it, makes it phenomenal).

I received mine yesterday, and the moment that I turned it on, it was incredible. I spent days after days after months choosing between the Swift and the Acer. I just had that little feeling each time I saw the Swift. But, I decided to get this one. And hope it could overcome that feeling, and boy did it do exactly that.

It's my first ever IPS display, first ever 144hz display and first ever G-Sync display. And I could not be happier. You get the incredible colours of IPS (and I did not think that they would be that big of an improvement, but they truly are) alongside the extremely smooth gameplay with 144Hz and G-Sync (I'm rocking a GTX 970). Then you realise it's 1440p, and all those combined is incredible.

Unless you're really going to do competitive play, the 4ms is a no-brainer. I have not had a single problem with it, and considering the image quality, I don't see why I should care.

Even if it hurts, get the Acer. In the end you will appreciate your choice, as long as you don't look towards the wallet.

Keep posting guys!
