New PC freezes after several minutes

Hi guys,

I've been having a lot of trouble with my new build, specifically in regards to freezing issues. After several minutes my pc completely freezes and I have to restart it. My build is this:

I should note that it happens less often and after a longer period of time with the integrated GPU as opposed to the r9 290x I have.

The first steps I have done is to install all of the asus drivers for my motherboard, update the bios and also install the latest drivers for my graphics card. The issue still occurs, however, and now i'm kind of stuck as to what to do next.

Thanks.

Sounds like thermal problems to me.

Get in to the bios and let the pc run for a few minutes. The bios should report cpu temperature?

That time I saved Linus' WiFi pass from appearing on YouTube:

My mistake meant to add 2 sticks in (so 4gb). I'll change it.

Ok ran memtest and it passed, and also have checked GPU speed and it is at 40 degrees. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Does it freeze up in the bios or on the operating system? And if the os then what os are you running?

It hasn't frozen up on the bios, but does freeze up on the operation system. I am running windows 8.1 pro.

Go to task manager, resources and see if you are maxing out on your ram. Otherwise check the event system log for any errors.

Check Samsung's website and see if maybe there is a firmware release for your SSD. My Mushkin one use to do the same before I updated the firmware, no issues since.
