You're spending more on the case than the GPU? If you went for a cheaper case, you could get a much better deal.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($166.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($102.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB ACX 2.0 Video Card  ($319.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $818.36

EDIT: Missed the mITX board. But even so, the G3258 is good value because of how well it overclocks, something that H97 boards aren't designed for. I'd suggest going for a more powerful quad core CPU and an AMD card (maybe a 280) with a cheaper case if you wanted to go for mITX.

I original post said I wasn't buying the case myself, and ASUS enabled overclocking on their H81, H87, and H97 motherboards

So your overall budget is around $500, excluding the case?

I never said that you can't overclock on the H97 boards. You can also overclock on the B85 boards, but none of them are designed for it. The Z series all have beefier power delivery, so they're better at maintaining stable overclocks. For the Pentium K edition, a Z board is best. The mITX Z boards are expensive though, which is why I'd advise switching to an i5 and a cheaper GPU.

You can pick up a 280 for around $170, giving you almost double to spend on the CPU. If you can stretch a little, you can get an i5 4440. A board like the MSI B85I could also save a bit of money.

I don't see much of a black and white scheme going at all. It's just the ram.

Something like this would be better: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZjCzdC

I am gonna get some white LEDs and I was originally going to get an MSI 2GD5T OC 960, but I opted 4gb vram instead and yah...
