Older game more taxing

Whoopsie988

So I've been playing Just Cause 2 recently and I found out that because of its age you can beast it on average hardware. You can get 150+fps with an R9 290, but on GTA IV an even older game it is a whole lot more taxing and you get around 60-70fps with an R9 290.

GTA IV was a pile of shit. So that is probably why it is not going as smooth.

Rockstar did not port the game over properly.

Nothing like watch dogs, watch dogs is a sub par port at worst, a decent one at best, controls, options, and image quality were all top notch, there were issues with texture streaming but its unfair to compare watch dogs to GTA IV, one of the worst ports in recent gaming history

i don't think anyone gets 100FPS in GTA IV with the max draw distance sliders, unless hyperthreading makes the near double difference

A part from GTA IV begin a bad port as everyone already said. Just Cause 2 is an amazingly well made and optimized game. That is why it runs so well.

I still remember when GTA IV came out for PC, damn thing was crap, as optimization goes lol.

I remember the damn thing couldn't run smooth on high-end hardware at the time xD.

The stars died for you to be here today.

Yup. GTA IV PC version is shit and Just Cause 2 PC version is amazing.

Hell I remember playing JC2 on a 9400m equipped 13" MacBook and it ran acceptably! Wonderfully fun game too.
