off the bat i would recommend a macbook simply because of its ease of use in a school environment, but then again we would need to know your budget, location, etc

I myself like ThinkPad, they tend to be durable and have good battery life and as long as you get one with Nvidia graphics it will play Minecraft quite nicely.
