Need Opinion Before Buying Parts

Hi guys. Over the past week I got it in my mind that I would make a computer. I've spent over four hours every day since then researching on building a good computer. My goal was to be able to run any game at ultra settings in 1080p and get 60fps. I've been in contact with various people and have learned more in a week than I ever have before. I've put together a couple parts lists. The first one is my initial build and the second is what I'll add during the summer once I have more money.

It would be awesome if you could check this out: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xw9xmG Keep in mind that it needs to run games 60fps, @1080p, in Ultra settings. And also be able to render with good speeds if I ever get into that. Feedback and criticism wanted.

Here's the list of things I will buy over the summer: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/HQPyBm

Please lete know if you have any concerns. Also, is there anything I should know about building a PC? I don't want to screw it up and have wasted over a thousand bucks.

Thanks, Psychomellon

It was recommended to me and it runs cool. Also has hyperthreading. Is there a better one for games/video editing? (for around the same price)

This card?: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-04gp42974kr

The fans I have have an interchangeable red/blue/white band that goes around them. Are there others that you would suggest?

yes that is awesome look good wish i could get it

also case fans are good if you can change them to be blue

-snip-

Only 256gb for the entire computer. CPU has fewer Ghz and can't be OC'ed. Video card is an ugly color. 1600hz memory not 1866. No case fans, cheap/not super upgradeable motherboard. A waste of money on the monitor, could get better graphics for that price.

CPU GHz do not seriously impact game play in most titles. OCing is a hobby, not a requirement. Besides, Xeon do not overclock.

In gaming and general work there is no performance difference between memory speeds with comparable sub-timings.

I would suggest some changes in the order in which you buy parts. The cpu cooler and after market fans are not necessary. Instead of getting them in the initial build, get the ssd. Many hours will be saved by installing the system on the ssd, rather than on a much slower hdd and then later having to move everything. I doubt you need a sound card. The motherboard has a good sound sub-system. The stock cooler will do a decent job even if it is a bit loud at load.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

How's this looking: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/jnBDVn

Got rid of H7 cpu cooler. Switched fans, still getting 2 because they're so cheap.

Oh, lol... do what you want man.

You sound like someone who deserves to learn stuff yourself the hard way!

Sorry, that might have been a bit harsh. It's just that I've spent over 30 hours in the past week figuring out parts specific for my needs. I don't want to change everything after that.

Lol ok, I'll probably buy parts today thanks
