2 Parts, i5-4670k vs i5-4690k, Best Motherboard For Overclocking.

Go to solution Solved by Comessy,

4690k can overclock better because better heatspreader or whatever it was.

If you can already get your 4670k to 4.4ghz then there is no reason to upgrade, that's what a 4690k would do but just on a lower voltage

So I currently run an i5-4670k on an ASRock Pro4 Z87 board. I can get a stable 4.4Ghz overclock and somewhat of a 4.5GHz overclock with good temps. With a similar cooling setup, what is the difference in the 4690k? I heard it overclocked much better and was more stable. I have a possibility of selling my current CPU and replace it with the 4690k and a new motherboard. I would want a smaller mATX board to downsize my system a little for college. So this is what I am asking:

1. Whats the difference between the i5-4670k and i5-4690k in terms of overclocking and stability

2. Does the motherboard really matter for overclocking?

3. What is a good (cheap as possible) Z97 mATX board for overclocking?

Is that all it was? Alright then, not worth getting rid of my CPU if it works fine. I'll just wait for Skylake :)
