Have to make a decision between two laptops!

So the first option is 850£ for a 15.6 inches, 1080p, 16gb Ram and GTX 960m

The second is 959£ For a 17 inches, 1080p, 8gb Ram and GTX 965m.

both run on the same Intel CoreTM i7-4720HQ 2.6 ghz
Maximum budget is 1000

What do you guys suggest?

Is the 965m with less ram worth the money? Or better off with a slightly worse GPU and twice the ram saving 100 pounds?

EDIT: Thanks everyone for the suggestions so far. I will clarify my needs a bit: I don't care about portability, it will mainly sit at home on my desk, but since I travel a lot, it cannot be a desktop pc. In other words, weight doesn't matter. I just need the best gaming for my money! :)

which exact model, the specs matter very little, I would guess it's this one

 http://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-17-3-Inch-Notebook-i7-4720HQ-Graphics/dp/B00R6BRE5A/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1432310854&sr=8-5&keywords=970m

and this one

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-GL551JW-DS71-2-6-3-6GHz-Windows-7200RPM/dp/B00V95EIU8/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1432310854&sr=8-7&keywords=970m

I would go for 17 inch since 15 inch one is already massive.

965m is quite a bit more powerful too.

The real question is, what kind of size machine are you wanting to carry around, 17" is a large laptop, 15" is more portable, there are even 13" models with that spec

there is not much between a 965m and a 960m

Well my aim is to game, but I know I cannot afford to run AAA titles or anything, I wanted to find the best gaming laptop for 1000 pounds. I know a desktop pc would be a better option but I can not do that because of logistic reasons..

since when

there is a pretty damn big difference.

Its not that big  if the size/weight saving is worth more to the user (is what I should have said)

Example 960 gets 30fps in Far cry 4, 966m gets 35 fps,  - but you can get a 960m in a 13" laptop - might be worth more to the end user

its better yes, but I was saying its not earth shattering if the OP really wants a smaller machine,

Yeah sorry about that, I forgot to specify that portability isn't really an issue since it's going to be sitting on my desk, I just travel a lot so it can't be a desktop pc. The question is, do you think the graphic card and less ram is worth the 100£ more?

Can you link the models so we can see all specs? It's hard to choose just basing on GPU and RAM

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

You are getting a better GPU and larger display for £100 - yeah totally worth it - 8gb of ram is plenty and easily upgradeable later
