A Samsung tablet with 4GB of RAM and a high-end, 14nm Intel processor spotted on Geekbench

There are some rumors about Samsung's new gen of the Tablet S recently. But besides the S2 tablets, from a recent leak on Geekbench's database it seems there may be one more tablet, codenamed "CHOPIN-LTE".

"CHOPIN-LTE"'s result was spotted on Geekbench's database a few days ago. According to Geekbench its spec is impressive. It has an Intel quad-core Atom x5-Z8500 processor, not Samsung's own Exynos processor, cloecked at 2.24 Ghz, together with an 8th generation Intel graphics and 4GBs of ram. (I believe this is the first Samsung tablet with an Intel Atom chip, pls feel free to correct me if I'm wrong..)

With this spec the tablet managed to score 1005 points in the single-core test, and 3425 points in the multi-core test. According to phonearena.com, this result suggested the new tablet's performance is similar to that of the Note 4. But since we don't know the spec of the tablet besides the cpu and ram at this moment, we should not use this result as an indication of tablet's performance.

Not quite the first Samsung Android tablet with an Atom.

I believe there was a few others as well. And if you include Windows tablets they had those as well.

Still a nice spec'ed tablet. Wonder how it will compare to the Surface 3 in performance, features, and price.

My Gaming Rig (Build November 2014):

It's the first Samsung with the new Atom X processor though (found in Surface 3), so will be interesting to see how well it performs.

Its the same CPU as the surface 3

the s3 uses atom x7 this is a x5 though the performance difference shouldn't be much

also very surprising for samsung to use a intel chip for a android tablet, i though they would use their exynos chips for this

this is one of the greatest thing that has happened to me recently, and it happened on this forum, those involved have my eternal gratitude http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/198850-update-alex-got-his-moto-g2-lets-get-a-moto-g-for-alexgoeshigh-unofficial/ :')

i use to have the second best link in the world here, but it died ;_; its a 404 now but it will always be here

Those are not very good scores. They are quite a lot lower than the Note 4, despite the Atom having a lot more cooling capability.

This Note 4 got these scores:

Single-Core Score: 1339 (33% higher)

Multi-Core Score: 4538 (32% higher)

On top of that, the S6's SoC beats the note 4. This Atom chip seems pretty bad in comparison to Samsung's own offering. I am not impressed.
