You got something like MSI Afterburner running? If so, disable it.

I was having nvidia driver crashes with the latest nvidia driver update, and MSI Afterburner seemed to be the trigger.

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

Arguing with religious people is like explaining to your mother that online games can't be paused...

Aftermarket apps do not change the power limits the onboard bios will accept. My guess is that this is similar to the problem I faced recently. Check windows event reporter for a warning NV (something or other) stopped responding, and restarted. If this is your culprit, it's usually a power delivery issue.(yes happens with AMD cards as well) The simple solution is to go into your power settings and switch off the power saving feature on the PCIe lanes (link state power management = off) If that file is the problem and this doesn't fix it, the next stage is to flash the firmware with a custom bios file raising the power limit.

If you're averaging about 45ish fps and you're not able to sit consistantly at 60 without using 100% of your card, I'd take a wild guess and say your gpu is overheating.

Try cap the game at 35/40fps (if it's possible in the menu) if not, try getting bandicam (even the trial) and just use it to cap the fps (There's probably better programs specifically for that but yeh here you go :D

my card goes around 88 degrees max with witcher 3 can't say it's overheating

That's high bud. While the card can run at that, any sort of spike in usage could crash the driver. I had a gtx 770 that would sometimes crash when sitting over 75 for more than a few minutes. You've to check the case airflow or at least try what I suggested to keep the card from sitting at absolute 100% max. Maybe down to 95%. Play around with it and check the results [emoji14]

I know it's high But I played Crysis 3 before and I had the same temps but I didn't experience any problems As I said only Witcher 3 is giving me the Crashes. So I can't really say its because of overheating.

I didn't use patch 1.04 yet so can't really say if cutscenes got under 30 fps is normal. but in patch 1.03 I get around 50 frames in cutscenes

Same, I just clean installed my nvidia gpu drivers and so far so good.

I didn't bother installing Nvidia experience because Iv read it could cause issues. And I don't like it either way.

Did you update your Nvidia driver specifically for TW3?

I changed from window-mode w/out borders to full screen and now it didn't crash once :D I had window enabled, cuz it ran better that way in .03 ^^

okay, good to know. I actually don't know, cuz I don't have no frame program running, althou cutscenes seem smooth to me.
