WolfWindGaming

Which one do you think is better?

I like Nvidia GPU's, but AMD processors

Can't believe review sites don't use 212 evo to compare coolers to.

Cryorig looks better.

Cryorig H7 for similar performance, lower profile, less ram interference, and better aesthetics compared to the 212 Evo

Aesthetics of rigs matter

They perform similarly but the H7 has better mounting hardware and has a lower height.

The Cryorig H7 performs about the same, looks much nicer, has a better fan and better compatibility, the mounting hardware is much better, and it includes a very large tube of high quality thermal interface material. I see the H7 as the Hyper 212 EVO killer.

I couldn't decide between these two for my build so I ordered them both. I decided t go with the 212 Evo because I felt that the mounting hardware was of higher quality and actually easier to install once you really look at it. The H7 requires you to thread four screws into flat sheet metal tabs on the cooler while turning the screws from the back of the the MB. Very awkward when the MB is not mounted in a case. There is potential for some frustrating nonsense with the H7 during installation even if you know what you're doing. The 212 Evo has more steps but is foolproof once you understand the procedure. H7 only seems easier because there are fewer steps.

I disagree about the mounting hardware.  The H7 requires you to hold the cooler down on the front side of the MoBo while tightening the mounting screws from the back side.  It is an operation that requires two hands minimum if not three, and if your chassis does not have a MoBo cut out this means you must install the entire heat sink prior to installing the MoBo.

But otherwise, assuming same or similar price, the H7 is a nicer product.

The 212 Evo needs the mounting bracket to be held down while accessing the rear of the motherboard which isn't much different. 2 hands work fine for installing the H7--not sure how a third would be necessary.

I was faced with a choice on how to handle mounting the H7 to the mobo: do it sideways with the case upright and risk completely jacking everything up, or ask my wife to support the case on the edge of the counter while I tightened it down.

Hilarity ensued.

That said, I'm a huge H7 fan. I've beat the crap out of my 4790k at stock speeds with RealBench, FurMark's CPU burner and Cinebench and haven't seen a temp higher than 61C. When I feel the need to overclock this chip, I have no doubt that the H7 will give me plenty of headroom.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

If you can get your hands on a H7, go for it. It's very similar to the 212 EVO in terms of performance yet looks miles better! I think it might even beat the 212 EVO.

The 212 EVO is just too common these day.....

The H7 by far. Smaller, easier to mont, looks better and I also believe it's quieter.
